BACKSTREET GIRLS - Don't Fake It Too Long LP
Hatt audition i London. Mye rart dukka opp, men Pat Diamond virket helt suveren.
Med Irske Pat Diamond som vokalist spilte Backstreet Girls inn albumet «Don't Fake It Too Long». Han ble raskt bandets nye frontman. Bandet levde ut mytene om ”sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll”.
BSG were about to release their seventh album, this time with a new man on lead vocals. The band had placed an add in NME and held an audition in London. Plenty of freaks turned up, but one man, PD, seemed up for the job. He knew everything by the Faces and AC/DC, and immediately clicked with the band.
With Irishman Pat Diamond (on vox), BSG recorded the album "Don't Fake It Too Long". He soon became the band's new frontman, and the band continued to live the myth of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. DFITL was in advance hyped as the best R'n'R album ever produced in Norway. The fans couldnt wait for its release.
The story turned out different, though. Diamond soon got in trouble with the Norwegian authorities. He was thrown out of the country, due to a lack of proper immigration papers. Even the band experienced him as aggressive, unstable and pretty damn full of himself.
Nevertheless, only a few weeks later he was back, but now as a Hare Krishna. Or rather as "Harry" Krishna, with his shaved head and crazy ideas - "a total nutcase" in the words of the band. Once again he was kicked out of the country, and this time he was kicked out of the band as well. Since then, nobody ever saw or heard from him again. Unfortunatly, the same thing goes for the album.
Now, almost fourteen years later, the band bends to the demands and wishes from the fans, and releases DFITL.
